One of the aims of the Citizens Advice service is to "exercise a
responsible influence on the development of social policies and
services, both locally and nationally." This means that we talk to
Government, local councils and other policy makers to help them
improve the laws and services that affect ordinary people.
All Citizens Advice Bureaux collect anonymous evidence of clients'
problems and campaign for change when an issue affects a number of
people.
Our campaign work (also known as Social Policy) covers a huge range
of issues including consumer, debt, housing, benefits, immigration,
employment, legal matters and health.
